Wallidan Win Late Pa Modou Sarr Basketball Tourney

Wallidan Basketball teams are crowned champions of the late Pa Modou Sarr memorial Basketball tournament on Sunday at the Serrekunda West mini stadium.
Wallidan registered an impressive victory 53 to 35 points against YMCA Basketball team in the final forcing their way to lift a glittering trophy.
Sunday’s final marked the 7th edition of the tournament in memory of the late Pa Modou Sarr who lost his live in a road accident in United States of America in 2004.
YMCA led the first quarter of the game, but didn’t do well in the second quarter in which Wallidan took advantage of to lead and control the game and ended up winning the final with 53 to 35 points.
The head coach of Wallidan Basketball team Ousman Conateh expressed happiness after the game, saying that is excited about his team’s championship in competition. “We prepared very well prepared for this game,” he said.
He told this paper that he is please with his team’s performance, adding that he know  he will win the game, appealing to Gambia Basketball Federation (GBF) promote grassroots level basketball in the country.
The head coach of YMCA Foday Singhateh expressed disappointed with his team’s performance.
The president of the Gambia Basketball Federation (GBF) Mam Ensa Gaye acknowledged that it was a good tournament.
