The defending champions of The Gambia first division league, The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) were held to a goalless draw by Samger at the Serrekunda west mini stadium on Saturday in a thrilling encounter.
The reigning GPA came into the game with 6 points - a point ahead of their opponents, Samger, but they were denied victory by the academic boys in the week six of the GFA league 1 fixtures.
The point interval made the game competitive from the early minutes of the as the defending champions (GPA) were trying to extend the gap where as Samger were struggling to close as the gap.
Fans witnessed attractive style of football with series of scoring chances from both teams, but none could hit the net.
The defending champions (GPA) now bagged seven points in six matches. Their next game will be against the Y/Africans in Banjul KG5, next weekend.
The Academic boys, Samger, who are closely following behind with a point difference will face Gamtel on Sunday at the Serrekunda East mini stadium.
