The highest scores in the Gambia first division league so far came from the telecom giants, Gamtel, as they managed to net four goals against the academy boys, Samger at the Serrekunda East mini stadium on Sunday.
Gamtel suffered a goal down in the early minutes from Boto Manneh of Samger. The game seemed to be tough in the early stage of the game but they managed to make a U-Turn and scored an equalizing goal in the 42nd minute through Ali Sowe.
After the break, Gamtel came with a different style and took the lead in five minutes through Ousainou Manneh from a superb header to make it 2-1.
The former Serrekunda Utd striker, Ali Sowe scored the third goal for Gamtel to make it 3-1 and eventually wrapped his hat-trick in the 69th before missing a spot kick in the 72nd minute.
The Reigning champions, GPA lost to the newly promoted Young Africans by a goal to nil at the Serrekunda West mini stadium. Wallidan won Armed Forces by a goal to nil, Brikama Utd drew a goalless to Bakau United. Steve Biko finished one all against Africell, and Interior FC lost 2-0 to Real de Banjul.
And the table showed Wallidan at the top with 16 points one points ahead of Brikama United who are with 15 points, Armed Forces and Bakau Utd all with 12 points with identical goal difference. Real de Banjul and Young Africans also with 11 points and goals differ, Gamtel 9 points in seven games, GPA 7 points, Samger 6 points, Steve Biko and Africell 4 points and Interior with 3 points.
