Gambia Suffer Disappointed Debut


Emotionally Celebrating
The Gambia U-20 suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of the indomitable lions of Cameroon during their first encounter in the ongoing 2011 Orange African Youth Championship in South Africa.

A 45th minute goal from Sally Edgar was enough to give the indomitable lions the lead and eventually the only and the winning goal against the baby scorpions of The Gambia at the Dobsonville Stadium, the game marked second in Group B.

Meanwhile, the first game was between Ghana and Nigeria in which Nigeria managed to find the net twice from Nwofor Uche in the 17th and 81st minutes of the game. An effort from Boakye Richmond in the 31st minute made the scored to 2-1 at the end.

Nigeria are now on top of the group with 3 points two goals followed by Cameroon with 3 points one goal,  while Ghana are on third with no point but a goal and The Gambia on the rock bottom with neither a point nor a goal.
