The super cup winners, Gamtel were seriously overcame by Armed Forces with a comfortable 3-1 at the Serrekunda East mini stadium on Sunday in the Gambia Football Association (GFA) league 1.
Kabba Jobe, Samba Kujabi and Emily Sambou were the players on target for Armed forces in the first half. The three goals frustrated Gamcel players which made them to lose appetite of the game.
Resuming into the second half, Gamtel tried to launch several attacks which finally resulted in a consolation goal in the 64th minute through Nabbi Darboe.
“We have lost badly due to the team’s reluctance as the first half was completely dominated by Armed Forces,” said Ousman Badjie who was deputizing Gamtel’s coach, Mustapha Manneh.
He did not criticize the decision of the referee, saying the decision is final, but was not satisfied with the tough tackles faced by his players during the game.
For Armed Forces, the head coach Alas Sey said they did all what they could to win the game.
“When Armed Forces came all out to play no one can stop them because the team is really powerful,” said Alas, adding that they defeated Gamtel with ease.
