Brikama United on Thursday widen their gap from one to three points ahead of Real de Banjul who remained second, after winning Africell by two goals to nil at the Serrekunda East mini stadium.
Real de Banjul who are thrilling on their toes were hoping for Brikama United to draw against Africell on Thursday but things turned otherwise as the Western Coast Boys proved their strangeness to the GSM team, with a 2-0 easy pass.
Thanks to Bully Drammeh and Foday Trawally whose goals were enough to seal a victory for the Brikama boys. Brikama continued the good home record by losing only a game against Interior in their home field.
Speaking to reporters, Africell’s Ebrima Jallow expressed disappointment after losing what he described as an important game for his team.
“There were series of goal scoring chances but my players did not capitalize on those deadly chances and Brikama just have their chances scored, that’s all,” he said.
While Ensa Sambou of Brikama expressed happiness for securing the points they needed to save their threatened top spot.
Brikama are now 3 points clear ahead of the Banjul side, Real.
