Ten Men Gamtel Oust Niarry Tally off WAFU Championship

The telecommunication giants, Gamtel have successfully progressed to the next stage of the WAFU championship after a convincing 5-4 penalty against Senegalese Niarry Tally at the Independent Stadium on Sunday, July 3, 2011 in the return leg.
The two sides played their games in Dakar and in Banjul failing to score in the normal time, which resulted in a penalty kicks leading Gamtel, the Gambian side to victory.
The telecommunication boys, Gamtel, played well in the early minutes of the game in front of their home supporters but found it hard to shake the net with a goal, while Niarry Tally was also hunting for a goal to go with. Both teams succumb to the stalemate making it impossible for them to score and the ninety minutes ended goalless forcing their way to spot kicks.
Though, Saja Jarjusey was sent off by the Sierra Leone referee at the stalemate of the first half, Gamtel were able to control the pressure and happen to win by 5-4 in penalties.
