The head coach of Gamtel FC, Mustapha Manneh expressed satisfaction and delight after his side dumped the Senegalese side, Niary Tally off the WAFU club championship in 5-4 spot kicks at the Independent Stadium in Bakau.
The two sides played both legs, in Dakar and in Banjul but failed to shake the net with a goal during the normal time, leading the game to post match penalty kicks in which Gamtel happened to be the lucky team to proceed to the next level of the WAFU competition.

Speaking in an interview shortly after the game Coach Manneh said he felt happy to see his side proceeded to the next level, but admitted that goal scoring is the most difficult thing for them in football.
“I feel proud. I am happy. This is what we were preparing for, we were lucky to win in the penalties. For the red card, it was normal, but we prepared for it and did not affect us,” Manneh said.
The coach affirmed that they will go back to their normal training and prepare well for the next stage.
Meanwhile, the captain of the team Matarr Nyang, said they were excited and they are going to win in their subsequent games.”
