UK Born Gambian Athlete Switches Allegiance

A Gambian by parents, Nusrat Ceesay was born in the United Kingdom and has declared her commitment to run for the Gambia in the upcoming Olympic Games in London 2012 after running for United Kingdom for so many years.
Nusrat Ceesay, a specialist in 400 meters, is the newest Athlete to represent the Gambia at international level.
She was speaking at a press conference on Friday where she was joined by other prominent sports personalities likes of El-Hagi Diouf, Kalilou Fadiga and Alasane Ndure at the Jerma Beach Hotel conference hall.

According to Nusrat Ceesay, it is fantastic to be at home in The Gambia. She also told the journalists that her intention is to run for The Gambia from now on, after running for England for so many years.
“I want to run for The Gambia because is my home country, and am ready to do my best with The Gambian flag high come the Olympicm,” Said Nusrat.
Nusrat also went on to reveal her intention to help Gambian young athletes by bringing her coach to train them in order to be develop.
