Her new team include new names like Musa Sise as first vice president and Alieu Ceesay assistant secretary general and Namory Trawalley as treasurer. Also returned is secretary general Aboulie Bah and Aboulie Nget who is now assistant treasurer while Uthman Jeng is second veep. Ida Bah, Rohey Bittaye, Baboucarr Sey and Modou Jallow are co-pted members.The congress was chaired by Emily Touray president of the Gambia Press Union who called for the SJAG to be united and observe the ethics of journalism. He assured the sports journalists that the GPU was ready to work with them in building their capacity among other things.
Pap Saine of The Point, honorary life president, called on the journalists to be fair and honest in their work.
Lamin Cham of The Standard, the founder of the SJAG, appealed for unity and collaboration among all members to ensure general development of the sports media. He thanked fellow pioneers like Essa Jallow who he said provided a lot of inspiration and wisdom to the association in its embryonic days.
