U-17: Gambia, Senegal risk early exit‏

Senegal, looked set to be the first casualties of the African Under- 17 championship in Rwanda after two straight defeats. The little experienced but imaginatively Lion Cubs were unlucky to have conceded three goals in the first half. They resumed play with refined form canceling two goals in no time and with little luck they would even wrapped up victory over Burkina Faso. Final score, Burkina Faso 3 Senegal 2. The Lions cub now move to take on host Rwanda to complete their first expedition in this competition.
Meanwhile, cousins Gambia, smarting over the shock defeat by the Congolese, steps in the fray Wednesday day against Mali, whom they must win or share the same flight with Senegal via Dakar. The holders showed their worst ever start  in this tourney with officials blaming everything from weather to style.
The Baby Scorpions dominated Africa in this category over the last five years and the fans are asking for nothing less but the heavy defeat and the threats from the good showing of other group rivals means the holders must be extra- ordinarily good to to negotiate their way from this group.
