Activist: 'Voluntary youth work can pioneer development'

Bakary Badjie, programme officer, Child Protection Alliance, has said young people should do away with the idea that voluntary youth work is a waste of time, and rather see it as a societal activity that can pioneer development to individuals, nations as well as the world. Mr Badjie said this over the weekend while delivering a motivational statement during the Activista-Kanifing Municipality certificate presentation ceremony held at the Multipurpose Hall, KMC.

AIPS Africa congress gets on track in Dakar

DAKAR, March 19, 2014 - (Please scroll down for French) The AIPS Africa congress kicked off Tuesday with the Executive Committee meeting at the Hotel Savana in Dakar ahead of the official opening ceremony that will be officially opened by the Senegalese Minister of Sports Mbagnick Ndiaye.
The first day of the congress was dedicated to reviewing the activities of the Executive Board headed by Obi Mitchell since the election in April 2013 in Sochi in Russia.

Gambian blogger, Mamadou Edrisa Njie, writes about social media ‘success story’

If someone had told me that a few years ago that using the social media will one day land me in a job, I would have totally disagreed with that person, be it an expert, a researcher or a fortuneteller. In fact, this wasn’t because I didn’t know what social media was all about but mainly because I was ONLY passionately on Facebook to chart with friends with some that I don’t know.
